Nick Chamie holds the position of Chief Investment Officer, International Wealth Management at Scotiabank, responsible for developing the global investment strategy and asset allocation process for clients across global equities, fixed income, commodities and currencies. Previously, he held the position of Global Head of FX Strategy & Emerging Markets Research at a major global investment bank, focussed on investment strategy research for 17 years. He and his team were ranked #4 in the world by institutional investors for best emerging markets research in the 2009 Euromoney poll. Mr. Chamie has worked in the National Forecasting group of the Conference Board of Canada, and has carried out econometric research in the Special Studies division of the Bank of Canada. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder since 1997. Mr. Chamie has been widely quoted in the press and has been a guest on all of the major television business news channels over the past 20 years. As well, Mr. Chamie has been a speaker at CFA conferences and an invited expert advisor to some of the world’s largest investors including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurance companies, mutual funds / asset managers, hedge funds, corporations and ultra-high net worth individuals.
